Privacy policy

The short version: we only collect what we need to reply to you and do the work you ask for. We don't sell your details, we don't use tracking cookies, and you can ask to see or delete what we hold about you at any time.
Who we are
This policy covers Offsider Co ("Offsider", "we", "us"), a Sydney-based business that builds websites, business systems and apps for small businesses across Australia (ABN 79 873 284 120). You can contact us about privacy at contact@offsiderco.com.au.
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you contact us
If you use the enquiry form, email or call us, we collect what you give us. Usually that's your name, business name, email address, mobile number, how you'd like to meet, and what you'd like help with.
When you become a client
To do the work we may also collect your business details, billing details, the content and photos you send us for your website, and the login details needed to set up services such as your domain, Google Business Profile or email. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we don't see or store your full card number.
What we don't collect
We don't ask for sensitive information such as health details, and we don't buy lists of personal information from anyone.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To deliver, host and support the work you've engaged us for.
- To send invoices and keep business records we're required to keep.
- To let you know about changes that affect your website or services.
We won't send you marketing unless you've agreed to it, and every marketing message will have an easy way to opt out.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers we use to run the business, and only as much as they need:
- Form delivery: Web3Forms passes enquiry-form messages to our inbox.
- Email: Google (Gmail) hosts our email.
- Website hosting: our hosting provider serves this website.
- Payments and accounting: our payment and accounting providers process invoices and payments.
Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose established providers with their own privacy and security commitments.
We may also disclose information if the law requires us to.
Your customers' data
When we build a back office or app for your business, it may hold information about your customers. That information belongs to your business. We handle it only to build, run and support your system, we don't use it for anything else, and we hand it back to you if you stop working with us. The details are set out in your client agreement.
This website
- No tracking cookies. This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't follow you to other websites, and only gives us combined totals, not information about individual visitors.
- Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google.
- Hosting logs. Like almost every website, our host may keep basic technical logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
If we add any other analytics or tracking in future, we'll update this policy first.
How we keep it safe
We keep personal information in secure, password-protected services with two-step sign-in where available, and limit access to the people who need it. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires (for example, tax records), then delete it.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@offsiderco.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first at contact@offsiderco.com.au and we'll try to put it right. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We'll update this page if the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
